Protest Liaison Officer Brighton | 28.09.2012 11:57 | Indymedia | Policing | Social Struggles | South Coast
Our attention has been drawn to an event being held in October regarding the changes to squatting laws. We would be pleased to speak to anyone who maybe participating in the event. We want to use communication to police protests rather than confrontation. Conversation between protesters and liaison officers is the key to making this happen.
Sussex police have put into place a dedicated Protest Liaison Officer team in Brighton & Hove.
This team’s primary role is to engage with protest groups prior to, during and after any event.
PLO’s will facilitate the rights of protestors whilst balancing the needs of the community as a whole and seek to achieve a safe and peaceful outcome to any protest.
