PRESS RELEASE
For immediate release 19 September 2012
CBbid “Public meeting (?)”: what have they got to hide?
On 2 September, Luke Crane CBbid Development Manager invited residents groups to a “public meeting 7.00pm 20th September in the Granta Suite at the Double Tree by Hilton, Cambridge. The meeting is open to all residents and it will be advertised in the Cambridge News”.
But on 7th September CBbid sent out an invitation to Residents’ Associations asking them to a “CBbid Exhibition” - with, presumably, less opportunity for public questioning of the BID and its proposers. (para changed)
Even more worrying is the total lack of publicity, since then, for the meeting (or exhibition) on either the Love Cambridge or CBid websites, or in the Cambridge News 12 September double page feature on the BID.
Anyone might think that CBbid and Love Cambridge don’t want the public to know about the BID, to have the opportunity to find out about it, or to question the whole basis of the proposal.
Cambridge for ALL urges Cambridge residents and traders to go to the exhibition, to ask questions, and to hold the proposers of the BID to account.
