Stop the eviction of squatted social centre at 24 Grays Inn Road

Save 24 Grays Inn Road social centre | 06.09.2012 12:00

Everyone who can please get down to 24 Grays Inn Road, central London either tonight or very early tomorrow morning to stop the eviction! Blockade the road outside with hundreds and hundreds of people! We can do it, we can save this vital social centre from eviction.

If hundreds and hundreds of people get down to Grays Inn Road then there is no way at all the authorities will be able to evict this building. That is why we are calling on everyone who can to get down and blockade the road outside the building to stop the bailiffs. We can get a thousand, maybe two thousand, maybe three thousand if we are lucky to turn out to defend our social centre!

And for every eviction

Solidarity, I'm not in London but would help resist if I was. However, is it not the same case as the eviction of every other squat? Sure, it would be brilliant if you could get thousands on the street but I've never seen even 100 at a resistance in London. I hope you get it tomorrow but I also hope everyone living there has been at every eviction resistance they can make and will continue to do so. (not that the two are related, solidarity should be unconditional)
And I didn't know it was still a social centre. I understood a different crew took over after the Palestine Place left and hadn't heard of any events, etc. Wish I'd known that as there is a distinct lack of squatted social centres in London at the moment and I would have visited. Make sure you advertise better what you are doing if you resist tomorrow.

Solidarity

how many ravers, artists, hipsters, famous musicians etc have at some point squatted? hundreads of thousands, how many of them have come out to oppose the goverment bill?

none!

the reason why the goverment did the squatting bill now is because they obviously knew they could steam roller it through with no opposition, stop daydreaming, claim housing benefit... on mass.
