Oh dear... you really are a big thick arn't you?

The hung parliament happened because that's how people voted.

The institute are saying they helped the party's work together towards getting a coalition sorted, which is infinitely better that sitting around as a hung parliament squabbling if it didn't get sorted.

There now - that wasn't so difficult was it.

Its like saying that some doctors prepared the ground for a major incident and enabled the curing of lots of people. That doesn't mean they created the incident!!!!!!!!!! ...... You tit

If there are just TWO factions competing, one will end up with a majority. If there are more that two factions competing then likely as not there will be no majority. Sometimes that can result in a workable minority government but usually means a coaltion government is necessary. There are countries with the parliamentary form of government where there has NEVER been a majority government.

You don't have to do too much thinking and research to work out that rigging has become a part of democracy.

We have postal votes. We had voting station closing on election night so that people could not vote.

The reason we have a coalition is simply because the voting system is a statistical mess.

It's done based on wards rather than individual votes. This allows wards with high population density to become insignificant and wards with low population density significant. It's pretty easy to control the result this way. It effectively terminates the votes of up to 20% of the population.

The voting should always be down to the greatest number of individual votes for a party rather than number of wards won.

If there is < 5% between the two leaders then they should recount and take the mean of the two counts.

That is fair, unbiased and statistically sound.

However, if you think who you vote for makes one little bit of difference, then you are a fool. I will never vote as I do not want to be directly or indirectly responsible for anything that the elected government does.

Wow, what a shocking scale considering their are over 60 million people in the UK. I'm absolutely gobsmasked that you think there would be ZERO criminal enquiries regarding postal voting. Did you really think there would be none? That makes you an idealist..... which makes you very naive. However, 50 is hardly going to swing the vote is it.

Well, by not voting - you are indirectly responsible. Because your conscious decision not to vote means that one of the parties is going to get one less vote. Sounds like you are trying to bury your head in the sound, but are failing.

Unless Andrew Adonis, who quotes this, doesn't know what the Institute for Government is about, since he was then director he should have done.

We all know that who is elected is dependent on the swing of a minority of seats. What's the point of electoral fraud if not to change the result that the voters would have brought about? Because fools do stupid things and are blind to the truth.

There is no point, unless you do it big enough. Trouble is: if you do it big enough, it is easy to detect and you get caught. So either do it itny and get away with, or do big and get caught. Either way, you can't make an effective difference.

You think that because people do it, then it must be because it makes a difference.
You are a fool. Plenty of people do stuff that makes no difference whatsoever and yet are deluded into believing they have. Just read indymedia and you will find many examples.
