I happen to believe that an individual who was at the heart of AR in England at one point now having close links to the racist BNP is important news. The AR movement and SHAC in particular is far too quick to try and sweep things under the carpet when they are unpopular. We saw this with the infiltration, the recent informer and the property in France that was purchased with donated money.

Can we have this conversation in public now?

I am committed to animal rights, but fascism has no place in our movement and fascists deserve no solidarity. It seems like there is some evidence that this guy is (or at least was) a BNP member. Those of you who are saying that this is of no relevance are frankly fucked up. Can someone who supports Medd-Hall contest the allegations rather than just scream for the posts to be removed?

Yes Gavin does have links to the BNP, that is hardly a new piece of information and has been widely known by lots of people for some time. Gavin has strong views about immigration and population but that is not relevant to his work for SHAC and other AR groups. Let's not forget this is a man who went to prison for his beliefs and commitment to the cause.

So let's all drop this and focus on the real fight, the one about the animals. Membership of the BNP is hardly important when the far more important issue of closing HLS is considered

Your indifference is disgusting. Aside from anything else, tolerating open neonazis in the animal rights movement means that our movement will be 100% white and an unwelcoming place for anyone from an immigrant background. (Maybe this is what you're hoping for?)

It makes me sick that some people in the animal rights movement are comfortable working alongside those who come from the same political tradition as Hitler and Oswald Mosely; racist, homophobic and sexist scum who laud Auschwitz, Belsen, the persecution of Jews, Roma and communists.

Where do I start ? Let me help you first with your grammar and punctuation skills, the sentence above should read,

"It's because you're scared of SHAC" or "It is because you are scared of SHAC". A few moments extra time spent in this area adds credibility to your writing and ensures readers are fully able to understand your point.

Moving on. The days when anybody was scared of SHAC are long past, the violent ALF linked element is now all in gaol and left on the streets are the weird and the deluded ("HLS closed by Christmas etc") so your statement fails in two areas style and accuracy.

Me too however there is a lot of information around this post that was hidden yesterday when it should be widely known, or are you another AR person with Right Wing leanings ?

SHAC is working very hard to hide the truth about Gavin Medd-Hall like they tried to hide the truth about the police agent they had at the heart of the group, the activist turned informer who sold out so many and the property in France that is still being lived in by three SHAC people and paid for by donations.

This is a very predictable pattern and one that sadly a certain moderator here is happy to collude in, that of hiding unpalatable truth about what has happened to SHAC and trying to prevent the truth from emerging. The tale of Wikileaks should teach us all that this tactic fails.

One last thing - do not accuse me of being either a troll or a government agent. I gave a lot for SHAC, it cost me a relationship plus a job, the governments of the UK and US gave up worrying about us in AR long ago, their Fascist tactics ensured the most committed of us went to prison (as I did) and they destroyed the effectiveness of the group.

The are still ways to work for animals but SHAC is not it, SHAC is about fund raising now.
