Bradley Manning and Julian Assange: new flyer design

New design for flyers for Bradley Manning and Julian Assange.

We've had some printed up as double-sided postcards and the first of them were distributed around Liverpool yesterday.




Bradley Manning has now been held in pretrial detention for over 800 days by the US, who have tortured him and meted out other extra-judicial punishment for having the courage to tell the truth about the wars and malicious US meddling around the world.

Julian Assange is also being persecuted at a distance by the US for sharing these truths with the world through WikiLeaks. He has been under virtual house arrest for over 600 days and for the last 7 weeks has sought refuge in the Ecuadorian Embassy to avoid extradition to Sweden from where he could be extradited to the US on charges that carry the death penalty.

While Julian remains in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, there is an ongoing vigil outside every day.

Not positive the best strategy (to link these two)

Because this is a British site you might be unaware that the US laws are very different than yours on "offical secrets". We have no equivalent. That means if ALL Assanage did was receive and publish this material he is not in fact in great danger from our laws. In other words, if the only connection between him and and Manning is that Manning sent Wikileaks the data unsolicited Assange is in the clear.

But if there is any connection, if he solicited Manning and especially if he paid Manning anything (even "expenses") that's a whole other kettle of fish.

Which is why I'm not sure suggesting connections is the best strategy.

PS --- We haven't executed an spies over here in a long time. Longer than most of you reading this have been alive (in my lifetime yes)

The connection between Bradley Manning and Julian Assange is that the US is very pissed off about and seeking vengeance over the release of the material that Brad is alleged to have leaked and Julian published.

Brad has been at the mercy of the US for over two years now. He's been tortured, denied many of his rights, declared guilty in advance of the military court martial by Obama, the head of the military etc. etc. What happens to Julian Assange if the US gets hold of him may have nothing to do with what laws you have.
