LaDIYfest Sheffield presents... Hair Today! Hair Tomorrow? Workshop

LaDIYfest Sheffield | 24.07.2012 20:41 | Culture | Gender | Health | Sheffield

We will explore the hairy politics of how women's bodies are being patrolled and controlled by societal expectations to shave and groom in a discussion workshop and zine-making session about body hair.

Following on from the project we ran during June encouraging you to grow your body hair:

...Here comes the workshop!

3pm - 6pm
Saturday 28th July
Site Gallery Cafe, 1 Brown Street, S1 2BS

We will be meeting in the Site Gallery Cafe where we will have a discussion about issues raised and thoughts to carry forward. We will then put together pages to be collated into a zine that LaDIYfest will produce and distribute at future events.

So come along with all your creative ideas including any pictures, poems, pieces of writing, diaries or illustrations you have put together - these should be on an a4 page and nice and clear to be photocopied into black and white. Or don't bring anything at all and just get crafty on the day! If you can't make the workshop but still want to contribute to the zine project, then you can send us contributions to be included in the post, please message us for details.

All are welcome to the workshop, however hairy! Feel free to come along even if you didn't join in with the hair-growing project.
