Raytheon UK honours ITT Exelis with supplier excellence award

BRIGHTON, England, July 9, 2012 - ITT Exelis (NYSE: XLS) has received the Raytheon “2012 Recognition of Contribution” award for its work on the Paveway™ IV system. The award was presented to Paul Hills, managing director of the company’s Brighton site, at the Raytheon UK Annual Supplier Excellence Awards.

“Raytheon is delighted to recognise Exelis with this award, following the extraordinary efforts the Brighton site made to provide urgent Paveway IV equipment upgrades to support the U.K. Ministry of Defence (MoD) in the Libya liberation operations last year,” said Kevin Ruder, supply chain manager, Raytheon UK.

The annual supplier award is bestowed upon a supplier that demonstrates outstanding support and exceptional customer service. Exelis was recognized for providing weapon interface kits for the Raytheon Paveway IV next generation global positioning system precision-guided weapon, which is part of a U.K. MoD program. The relationship between Exelis and Raytheon UK dates back to 1990, with earlier Paveway II and Paveway III weapon programs.

“We are honoured to be recognized for providing innovative and customizable solutions for critical missions,” Jim Barber, vice president and general manager of the Exelis Integrated Structures business. “We look forward to a continued partnership with Raytheon UK to support our valued ally and customer.”

In March 2012, Raytheon UK was awarded a £60M ($96.1 million) replenishment contract for the Paveway IV System from the U.K. MoD. Exelis will continue to play an integral role on this program.
