Over the last few years Unity has been getting bigger and bigger, doing more to help asylum seekers in Glasgow and more people are volunteering for it.

Over the last few years Unity has been getting bigger and bigger, doing more to help asylum seekers in Glasgow and more people are volunteering for it.
So Unity is changing – We want more people to be involved in helping run Unity!
On Saturday 30th June, we’re inviting all of our friends, supporters, volunteers and all the people who come to Unity and take part in our projects to the very first “Unity Gathering” to meet the people in Unity, to make plans for the future and to socialise in a relaxed and informal way.
You're invited to join us!
At the Gathering we plan to launch Unity’s new membership scheme which will be open for anyone supporting us to join whether you are asylum seeker, refugee, volunteer or supporter so you can help make decisions about Unity and what we should be doing.
And if you’re interested in volunteering with Unity, the Gathering will be a good place to come and hear about all the different projects we run and to meet the people involved in running them.
Then after the Gathering in the afternoon we will have a meal, watch a film and then have a party with live music and DJs.

2.00 - 3.30 Report back from the different projects Unity is involved in and discussion:
Unity World Café / Unity centre casework and anti-deportation campaigns / FC Glasgow United / Unity's charity shops / Unity clothing distribution project / English classes / Unity Bike Project / Glasgow Night Shelter / Unity Women’s Project
3.30 – 4.00 Workshop ‘What does Unity mean to me?’
4.00 – 5.00 Discussion on how to improve communication and decision making among all the different Unity projects and make Unity more inclusive and Launch of new Unity membership scheme
5.00 Formal finish of Gathering
Followed by meal, film show and playing in park!
Then 8pm – 11.00pm
Unity Party and benefit gig with
Sunshine Social band and DJs
