This top level domain has also been applied for
by big players like Google, Amazon and Symantec.

Bibbiena (AR - ITALY), 26th June 2012 – Aruba S.p.A. (www.aruba.it) will be the only European company to compete for the assignment of the .cloud TLD, together with other six applicants among which Amazon, Google and Symantec, as indicated in the list of requested new TLDs published a few days ago by ICANN. The interest shown for this top-level domain by companies like Amazon and Google confirms the ever more strategic importance of cloud services today and in the future defining more and more the web strategy of companies wanting to develop their exposure online.

Cloud computing is becoming one of the major technological trends also in this country.
Aruba through its CLOUD.it (www.cloud.it) brand wishes to be a leader of this new trend, becoming an authority for all the companies that wish to develop their services through cloud computing.
The CLOUD.it offer, is based on a simple, fast and flexible service which allows users to create and manage cloud servers completely independently by setting up the infrastructure that most suits the user’s needs, from a single machine to more complex structures.

“We deeply believe in our Cloud offer”, states Stefano Cecconi, CEO of Aruba S.p.A. “Just four months from the launch we have received plenty of positive feedback from customers who have chosen the Aruba Cloud Computing which confirms the fact that our idea of Cloud is the solution to the demands of the market. This is why we decided to send our application to ICANN for the .cloud domain, even though we knew we would be coming up against big international competitors. In the meantime we are working on new Cloud services we will be adding to the offer, part of an investment plan covering the years 2012-13”, Cecconi went on to say.

The required verification process of the applications will begin during the month of July and for 2013 the awarded companies will have right to start using the new TLDs.

More information and details on Aruba Cloud Computing are available at www.cloud.it where it is possible to try out the service for free by completing the application form and receiving a voucher of 10 Euro to test out all the features.
