Iberian MIiner's Strike... Reaches Its 23rd Day!!!

It has been 23 days of relentless fight in Asturias, Leon, Aragon and other regions of the Spanish state.

Today, (19/06/2012) the cops have been pushed out again from the dignified small village of Cinhera de Gordon after another indiscriminate charge and the a short-lived occupation.

Fellow miners and ex-miners from the UK, Germany, Poland and Chile have arrived in Asturias to show their support and active solidarity.

Road blockades and clashes with the GRS have been going on every day; the latter are the anti-riot branch of the infamous and semi-militarized "Guardia Civil", notorious for their right-wing leanings and its repressive role played under Franco's rule.

A big "Black March" is currently getting organised and is expected to begin tomorrow from the territories of Asturias and Leon to the Kingdom's capital Madrid.
