Today June 18th 2012 is the fisrt anniversary of peace campaigner’s Brian Haw’s demise from cancer which he battled so bravely.
I knew Brian from the early stages of his campaign in 2002 –he started in June 2001 and lived do see his vigil for peace clock up a whole decade.
He may be gone but the spirit continues with the authorities who cannot handle the truth desperately trying to get rid of his display and his colleagues on the campaign, notably Australian born Barbara Tucker as well as Palestinian Aqil and octogenarian Eric.

I met this man on numerous occasions over the years and say what you like about him - he stuck it out.
Which is more than can be said for the useless types that spend their days trolling this newswire. On every day, he stood outside Parliament and never let them get a moments relief from what they were doing. Second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year.
I doubt the armchair commentators here could manage half hour on any day of the week!
Security, security - everywhere!
fair play

But, yeah - its not fair to pick on someone who has died.
He obviously had some admirable qualities with regard to sticking out for his beliefs. Thats pretty admirable in anyones book even if i don't agree with them
