Coeclerici: murder on BulkGulf.
misterbean@autistici.org (Mr. Bean - interceptor ®) | 17.06.2012 04:55 | London
It could be the summer thriller. It 'a Thriller mysterious and sometimes indecipherable. Maybe inexplicable. With all the ingredients of the perfect crime.
The crime scene is enigmatic and full of tracks. But we, like Sherlock Holmes are for the analysis of the facts. Speak for themselves. But not is an Agatha Christie novel or a film by Alfred Hitchcock. It 's all terribly true, unfortunately. And the crime ... is (almost) perfect.
I do not know if you know that the open sea is a place of lawlessness. On land there are Poirot, Jessica Fletcher, and CSI Miami that investigating all-out, the culprit never remains unpunished. But if the murder was committed on the high seas, it is very different. Men on ships not subject to laws as ordinary mortals. There are territorial authority, as well as international waters. There, at least in theory, anyone can do anything he wants. Is very easy for a murderess get away with it. As happens on the ship M/V BulkGulf.
Bulkgulf was a bulk carrier of maltese Affinity Company Ltd (Coeclerici Group) used mainly for the transport of iron ore and / or coke (but also bentonite and other compounds). The Coeclerici company still is now a major supplier of coal-fired power plant Enel. Today the bulkcarrier BulkGulf is called Trans Gulf and is part of the fleet of the Norwegian company Torvald Klaverness & Co AS pf Oslo (sold on the day 18 novembre 2002 from Coeclerici to Klaveness for the sum of 10.600.000$). But is a mysterious boat that has changed name dozens of times: Bandar , Red Ivy, Porto Ercole, Cetra Vega, Manga, Robert L.d., Purple Planet. The BUlkGulf is not really a ship as normal as any other, is a ship self-discharging. That is, it does everything by itself. He supplied the crane called Cavalletto that make it self to 100% allowing it to operate well away from the ports (can then perform operations in the open sea - between ship and ship - transhipping the cargo away from prying eyes).
While everyone is apprehensive about the millenium bug of the 2000 year (the dreaded tilt of computers across the world) BulkGulf leaves the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. The day January 29, 2000 makes a stop in the emirate of Bahrain. Miocic Zdravko is - or was - chief engineer on the ship of the fleet Coeclerici. Croatian aged 41, the day on January 29, 2000 by BulkGulf Miocic disappears, but it is more than certain that from the ship has never fallen. Already during the maneuvers in the port of Manama there was no evidence of its presence on board. Yet until the day before - Jan. 28 - was alive and well on BulkGulf. He dined with the captain of the ship. No one, therefore, from the morning of January 29th saw him more (except the murderess of course). The crew of the ship looking for him in his cabin, bathroom, office, seek him in the engine room, in every corner of the ship, but nothing. And 'as vanished into thin air. After all the morning of fruitless searching around noon the alarm is issued and is ordered a more thorough search throughout the naval unit. After further fruitless search comes made the official complaint of disappearance. The Master of the ship, the Croatian Ivica Ljuban really starting to worry. Immediately alert the agency Intercol of Manama and the Company GIIC-Gulf Industrial Investments Company (the first company represents Coeclerici in Bahrain the second is in business relationship with the Genoese shipping company) while the captain alert the Bahrein Port Authority and PL Ferrari (insurers of the ship company) of the disappearance. Even the afternoon of January 29 spent fruitlessly in search of the chief, so that eventually everyone assumes that “ he was lost overboard”, perhaps can be lost at sea before arriving in the port of Manama.
At the crime scene, sorry, of the disappearance, intervenes Captain Captain A. Aziz Ebrahim Al Ammadi, the local investigator of Criminal Investigation Directorate of Manama. CSI Bahrein by good detective feel immediately smell of crime. Forbids the crew to go ashore and seized the documents of the ship (so it can not go away), simultaneously order a new thorough inspection in search of the "disappeared" engineer. The control gives back negative. Now the crew is more than ever convinced that the ship will remain hostage to Saudi authorities until he finds the body of the poor Miocic. In this case, consultants and lawyers advise Coeclerici of issuing to the Bahraini authorities written statements from the crew so that it can serve to facilitate the investigation and the ship to be released soon. A stationary ship, as you well know, it costs lots of money and it would be really bad to make the end of the ship Enrika Lexie. The sailors are like workers and the ship is like a factory that must churning out profits continually without stopping. Also the cycle of the charcoal is an business that does not have to know stops. This precautions however appear almost entirely superfluous. At these latitudes, you know, human rights are not much taken into consideration (an emirate where is still practiced torture and the state murder ...) for a normal death - but also for a simple murder - do not dare the confiscation of a ship. These are things that make just some barbarous peoples of Kerala. The scene of the crime that should be safeguarded and protected adequately so is free from any possible control. According to CSI Bahrain there is no corpse, and so there is no crime scene. Justifiably so Lieutenant Colombo f f Manama decided to give green light to Bulk Gulf, which may go away undisturbed
A few days later, on February 12, 2000 BulkGulf is in Iranian waters. From Bahrain is traveling at a time from the port of Bandar Abbas (Iran). During lunch time the second officer advises the commander that there are problems in the engine room. Something is wrong. The Captain organizes a quick inspection to see the engine room. Guess who we are inside? The body of the unfortunate - and hitherto unavailable - Miocic with his chest pierced by a knife. The mystery is impenetrable (motor rooms had been inspected several times). Inexplicably, no one knows why, the commander decides not to alert the Iranian authorities, as would be logical (being the competent authority with jurisdiction). The ship makes a turn quickly and goes quickly into international waters. Right after the captain opted instead to inform the authorities of Bahrain. You never know that the Iranians saw the crime scene, decide to be more severe of the brothers from Saudi Arabia. Back at the port of Manama, the body of the unfortunate Miocic is taken over by local authorities and after usual reliefs and bureaucratic sent in Croatia to his loved ones, like a postal package. Even at this juncture it come not operated any vessel seizure. Nothing CSI Bahrain, as in the American series. The ship and its entire crew (and probably also the killer of Miocic) is again free to leave the port without hindrance of any kind. The commander of BulkGulf not believe his eyes. The company Coeclerici, shipowner of the ship as well. And 'so moved the captain of the BulkGulf that the February 16, 2000, before casting off and take off the disturb writes to all the authorities of the Arab country to thank sincerely them on behalf of the Genoese company: “hereby i take the opportunity, on behalf of the Owners, Managers, crew, officers and myself to express our deepest gratitude to all the Authorities and officials who offered their help and the assistance, to the vessel and her crew, during the most difficult days in the history of our vessel and unfortunate events with our late crew member…”.
Meanwhile, a local newspaper, learned of the nasty business decides to break the news: “engineer is stabbed on cargo ship … decomposed body has been found in the engine room of a cargo ship with an apparently self-inflicted stab wound… a post-mortem revealed there was a deep stab wound on the chest”. The Death Certificate drawn up the February 16, 2000 by the authorities of Bahrain is staggering, reads: “cut wound of the hearth stab wound of chest, suicide?”.
If is true the investigative theorem that teach in school of detective (“nothing is ever what it seems”) that of BulkGulf should not be suicide. Perhaps someone wanted to make it appear so. Especially since all describe the victim as a person mild and without problems, from the captain of the ship Ivica Ljuban until to the last man of the crew. All absolutely agree that Miocic was a very quiet worker. They also put pen to paper and signed: Agustin Balsamo (engineer), Dexter Cobarrubias (sailor) Raucher Miljenco (Chief Engineer), Danilo Bontilao (cadet Engineer), Elmer Apines (sailor). Darko Kucic, the chief electrician on board, who knew Miocic adds in his signed statement: “was a nice, very quiet man and it was difficult to get words out of him, but, he was a specialist in computers, and he showed me many things about the computer operation of the ship's conveyor system”. Yes it was a subject a little 'introverted but was otherwise a type scholar and very devoted to his work.. Absolutely not given to drink, without health, without any apparent personal problem.
Out of curiosity we tried to put the question to an expert in "crime scenes", very sensitive and paragnost that we will call ALICE Four (does not like to show off). After having described the situation in all its details and see all the documents of our cold case ask her: "Alice in his opinion, Miocic has committed suicide or this is a crime?". Our expert investigator without any hesitation, he replies: “Is a crime! Without any doubt. 90 on 100 the murderess was on the ship”. Then Alice Four makes another series of reflections (which we explain below). You do not need to be passionate stories of criminals for understand that if this is a voluntary death, this is a "suicide" very, very strange. Questions that you might ask then are numerous: first because want to die if you do not have a valid reason? The stab wound was inflicted on the chest with a ferocity unheard of (deep wound to the heart) it is possible to kill himself so fiercely? If you really Miocic has practiced harakiri, as it did to give himself a mighty stab in abdomen, and to the heart and then remove the knife and throw it on the ground nearby? Why go to die in a place so hidden the ship? (more compatible with the fact that someone would rather wanted to hide the body after the murder). Since the crew several times at least daily access to the engine roomas is possible did not see the body for more than 2 weeks? But after 2 weeks the bodies in an advanced state of decomposition / putrefaction does not emit strong odors nauseating? Possible - especially in a very closed environment like a ship - no one has ever noticed any strange odor? Probably for Camilleri, Lucarelli and Perry Mason can be imagine 1000 other questions.
The story, however, would not be quite complete without to explain even if briefly, the general context also of society, in which the crime occurred. What makes the scenario even more mysterious. The background of company Coeclerici is a rather complexit is a shipping company that was spied very closely by SISMI (Military Intelligence Service). This is result for sure by copious Coeclerici's documentation in the disponibility of a strange Genovese 007(Pietro Altana) seized by Judge Anna Canepa , and that we have published in these pages. It 's been sifting through the papers of a tale of espionage that randomly we stumbled into dossier the murder of Miocic. For completeness please note that this documentation has already been acquired by the public prosecutor of Genoa and then in some way concerned with public acts, ergo accessible to all (we point out this for avoidance of lawsuits). See the document pdf attached and reproduced here. Against Coeclerici then there is also a well-substantiated allegation of espionage for events that occurred in the Arab countries, complaint presented to the Prosecutor by the genoese military intelligence spy, (See doc. pdf attached on Hadeed case of Al Jubail). We show also the notice of a bomb threat by the Ansa Agency given during the presentation ceremony of the Coeclerici ship at various Authority. (phone call made right near the house of a secret agent of SISMI). Another detail - not secondary - is that the fake beard just cited, as well as with Coeclerici has investigated for a long time on Iranian society Irasco (powerful Iranian trading company based in Genoa put in black list by the U.S. Government for unlawful export of high technology, nuclear weapons and stuff). The Coeclerici Group at that time did lucrative business with the country of the Ayatollahs (as reported by the agent Altana in a variety of detailed reports with Forte Braschi). Among Coeclerici Logistics and Iranians was in fact in advanced state a joint venture with the Iranian shipping company IRISL-Islamic Republic of Shipping Lines (See the document pdf attached and reproduced hereIn the negotiations that followed took an active part in the negotiations three our old friends, at that time executives of the company Coeclerici Logistics, the eng. Ugo Salerno, Roberto Cavanna and Mario Terenzio (The first two currently with RINA, Registro Italiano Navale, respectively, in the role of President / Chief Executive Officer and Director of Certification and Terenzio to the society Logmarin Rina Group company).
Consider also that according to another military intelligence officer (tal G-71 to the century Nino Arconte) for long time Coeclerici and its vessels would be used by the Italian secret for various activities in the Gulf of Guinea. Finally, consider that Coeclerici is inserted in the list of companies in the odor of the Russian secret service (the so-called "Dossier Mitrokin" compiled by a former KGB agent). Thanks to his good knowledge of the former Soviet republic Coeclerici was able to open a branch in Moscow (and also in other regions of the CIS) doing a roaring trade (seems Russian companies in the Mafia odour).
In reference to this last link we have a duty to warn you that you have no right to see the contents of this web page because the Court of Milan has obscured the site (the complaint is of the company Coeclerici Group Spa). To someone bothers to hear about the Mafia. As you can see also in Italy - very democratic country - there is a little of healthy censorship (Indymedia still retains archive copies of two link visible here and here).
Questions of obligation: it may be that the "suicide" of Miocic took place against a backdrop of spies? There are the Iranians of Irasco that is based in Genoa, ditto the company Coeclerici, and then a joint venture with the Iranian IRISL... bad question ... Iran has anything to do with the death of Miocic? The Bulk Gulf brought something to the Iranians over in addition to the coalThe Croatian engineer have saw something that was not to seeIt is found in the wrong place at the wrong time and someone shut the mouth foreverWhy the italian military secret service had documents of Coeclerici on the mystery of death of Miocic? Perhaps we work too of fantasy? true?
Probably the most sensible would be another question: why to talk to all the costs of murder? It really could not be a normal self-inflicted stab in a moment of distress? It happens every day all over the world. There are so many strange ways to die. See the Colonel (1.80 cm high) that hanged himself on the handle of door of his bathroom (case filed as a suicide) or others "committed suicide" by shooting himself a pistol to his head (but without leaving any fingerprints on the gun and particles of gun powder on his hands).
Since never be extinguished the crime of murder - at least in the Italian law - if somewhere there is a good student who wants to try to exhume of the cold case we of course we are at complete disposal for further details. could also come up out a good Thriller noir type Andrea Pinketts. I morti non parlano, ma i fatti sì, e la verità potrebbe essere molto molto vicino. As he says Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.". As instead said also Alice Four, the hope lives always, because the truth never dies.
And you're assured that the past sooner or later always knocks at the door to ask for justice.
Are not pearls of wisdom, but lapislazzoli ... of interceptor.
