4 July: Annual 'Independence FROM America' demonstration at Menwith Hill

IMPORTANT DEMONSTRATION. Wed 4 July, 4pm–9pm Outside the main entrance to the American base at NSA Menwith Hill, near Harrogate North Yorkshire HG3 2RF

Join us for this annual demonstration for 'Independence FROM America'. Menwith Hill is an extremely important US base – occupied and controlled by the NSA, USAF and other Agencies. It is unaccountable, secretive and out of control of the UK government. It has many deeply concerning roles.

WHY SHOULD WE BE CONCERNED ABOUT MENWITH HILL?

Its roles include:

  • largest intelligence gathering and surveillance US base outside America
  • can and does tap into any airborne communications
  • US Missile Defense
  • Illegal and immoral Drones (Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen etc)
  • crucial part in war fighting: Afghanistan, Iraq (will be involved in any attack on Iran)

(((((( Why on earth does the size of the thing matter, would it be ok if it was the third largest, the fourth or even the smallest ?

((((((((So you mean they can listen to radio transmission ? In fact just like anybody else on the planet with a radio.

(((((((((You object to a country having the ability to defend itself from missiles !!

(((((((((Not sure what you are saying here, the base does not control drones, it's an intelligence gathering centre.

((((((((Every part of the military machine is "crucial in war fighting" US combat forces left Iraq some time ago and the supposed attack on Iran has been predicted for at least five years no and is no closer then than it is now.



All in all a confused message that doesn't seem to make any real points.

One of the speakers is Tariq Jahan ?

The same Tariq Jahan who was facing five years for a road rage attack on a disabled man ?

He was convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm on factory worker Sajjad Ali. He broke his jaw in two places because Ali did not move fast enough when Jahan was parking his van.
