Michael Huesemann, co-author of "Techno-Fix: Why Technology Won't Save Us or the Environment" interviewed by The Extraenvironmentalist. Then "Alternative Radio" founder David Barsamian recorded in Vancouver: what should we do? Radio Ecoshock 120613
Weather modification is just part of the scramble to find tech fixes to a crashing environment. Comments on Las Vegas conference trying to bring rain to drought-striken S.W. U.S. - local geoengineering as climate change progresses!
Crazy Americans? Not really. There were climate modification projects and presentations from Canada, Australia, France, and Japan. Russia has been at it for a while, and China is counting on rain-making to counter the impacts of climate change.
Will we return to the vast bands of deserts around the globe, as seen 200 million years ago?
Can technology save us?
Scientist and researcher Michael Huesemann says "No", in his authoritative book "Techno-Fix". We hear key excepts from a two hour podcast from Seth Mozerkatz and Justin Ritchie, hosts of "The ExtraEnvironmentalist".
While I offer listeners a free download of David Barsamian's wide-ranging speech on geo-politics, (posted Tuesday) - we hear his answer to my question: if the West (and the American Empire) are falling, what should we do in the meantime?
Barsamian founded the weekly "Alternative Radio" show, has published many books of interviews of counter-culture heros, including two new ones with Noam Chomsky and Richard Wolfe.
