Fascist mob attacks the stuff the jubilee assembly

Around 30 Anti monarchy protesters assembled by Grey`s monument today for a stuff the jubilee demonstration which had been advertised on facebook. The group was mainly UAF and SWP. Things did look good as a mob of fascists appeared chanting abuse at the Anti monarchy protesters. The fascist group consisted of the NEI and NF and EDL. Coins and bottles were thrown at the Anti Monarchy protesters, and thunderflashes. there were some arrests but the police were useless, and appeared to be totally unprepared. This was an unprovoked attack on a perfectly legal assembly, which again shows that Fascists do not believe in democracy or civil liberties.

at the moment the police are trying to disperse the fascists and some of them have been arrested. feel free to add updates in the comments section

Sorry to see that in Newcastle. Horrible. Hope all are okay.

It's been said before and repeatedly recently that with the obvious increase in attacks by all of the splits and other 'post'-EDL groups, that any public political event needs to be thought through on the idea of how to protect and defend itself so we don't end hiding behind the police. The more these right-wing cretins sense these easy victories, the more they will attack and not just on the streets but at meetings and gatherings too.

It's not that the police are 'useless'. It's more that they don't really give a toss about us. And we don't give a toss about them. So it's up to us to understand the threats and to find ways to stand our ground and more so, to be strong enough to actually get the right-wingers off the streets and to break their confidence once more.

The monarchy should be abolished as it represents Britains terrible class divide, thousands of people are unemployed so the last thing people need is a monarchy. Socialism is the way forward by eradicating class and social differences, for those of you who claim that such an ideology cannot work, then look at Albania in the post war years it had a socialist Government and the country was at it`s best, the same can be said about socialist yugoslavia.

The union jack representatives slavery and colonisation, and is a symbol of imperialism like the swastika.

Dear oh dear, the trolls are out in force today after a full right royal weekend of alcoholic excess. Patriot, True Patriot and Member of the Public are all pretty funny but 'true socialist' takes the lulz prize with the Enver Hoxha worship.

The Queen and the rest of the Royal Family aren't very famous for helping working class people in poverty of which there are one or two in the UK. It's such a shame that so many of the dimwits who love the Queen are also poor working class people. How does such a sham and spectacle come to be so successful? The Queen...what a brand!

i'm genuinely ashamed to see such absolute morons get away with basically, bullying people. do you people not remember what we did with bullies in school? did we just quiver and allow the teachers to save us?

the domesticated left really needs to get it's balls back. no hate - only constructive criticism.

police couldn't give a SHIT about you. we know this from when idiots attacked the occupy group - with impunity. The police station was literally two minutes away from the monument, and it took them 15 to get there.

Moral of story is, get some balls and fight the fuck back. you's are making the left look weak. and if you think educating these inbred nationalistic scum will help, enjoy you're black eyes and lumps on you're heads.

The person who wrote this 'report' was evidently not at the event, and seems to have little idea what happened. The anti-monarchy event was called by an individual who considers himself an anarchist, and the only sections of the left that came out to defend against the fascists were other anarchists and FRFI. UAF/SWP didn't have a single person there. Hopefully someone who was there will write a more accurate report of this for Indymedia, and we should also have a report on our own website soon.
