Palestine Place - partial events schedule released
Palestine Place | 31.05.2012 18:24 | Free Spaces | Palestine
An act of solidarity and resistance will soon implant itself in the heart of the capital. From June 2nd Palestine Place will engulf one of London's great wasted spaces and transform it into a base for workshops and actions in support of Palestine.

In the first two weeks of June this year one of central London’s lost and abandoned buildings will be reclaimed and transformed into a radical centre for discussion, action, and education around the issue of Palestinian rights. Palestine Place will be a squatted hub of activity from the 2nd-17th June. A partial events schedule has now been released, the reason it is partial is because we want the events in the space to be lead by people that are in there. We do not want people to simply come and passively consume entertainment put on for them but to actively get involved. All that we ask that those wishing to host events are willing to act within the parameters of our defined politics, which are solidified around the three demands made by Palestinian civil society:
1) An end to the occupation and colonisation of all Arab lands occupied since 1967.
2) Equal Rights for Palestinian Citizens of Israel (1948 Palestine)
3) Respecting, protecting, and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their lands as stipulated in UN Resolution 194.
The location will be revealed tomorrow, see palestineplace.wordpress.com or @palestineplace for updates
