Thanks to everyone who have participated in the Summer of Resistance so far. There have been something happening up at the factory every weekday since the first of May, a phone an twitter blockade , as well as several events at Barclays. For reports of EDO, Barclays and critical mass events from the last two weeks see www.smashedo.org.uk

The more people get involved and do actions, the more successful the summer will be: get in touch with anything you'd want to do up at EDO.

Here is an update with this week's open events:

Tuesday 15th, Summer Of Resistance info night in Hastings: 7.30-9pm at the Friends Meeting House, South Terrace

Wednesday 16th: Down the Drones noise demo at EDO. 4-6pm. A noise demo with a drone theme.

Wednesday 16th: Open planning meeting at Cowley Club, 12 London Rd, 6.30. Come along with your own ideas for the rest of the summer of resistance. Everyone welcome.

Thursday 17th, Public Meeting: Down the Drones. 7.30 at the Friends Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton. This should be an excellent talk so do come along!

Drone technology has changed the face of modern warfare. The CIA is currently launching attacks with unmanned fighter planes in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia without ever announcing a state of war or setting foot on enemy soil. British forces have carried out over 200 drone attacks in Afghanistan. This inevitably leads to the cheapening of human life. EDO MBM manufactures ejector release units for drones while ITT Exelis provides the software and hardware for the drones camera system.

Chris Cole, of Drone Wars UK outlines where drones are being used, which companies are manufacturing them and how to resist.

Monday June 4th: No attack on Iran -no to the arms trade. Mass demo in town. Meeet 12 noon outside Barclays bank in North Street. Do let us know in advance if you are coming from out of town and need somewhere to stay.
