Indymedia censorship

is apparent again, yesterday I posted about the public sector strikes that were happening yesterday, although, strangely, not reported anywhere on indymedia. It seems that rather than indymedia being what it was set up to be back in 1998 was an independent news wire now seems to have editorial over what goes on the list.

I was merely opointing out the fact that yesterdays strikes were in fact reformist by reformist unions. Sadly and something we need to look at as radicals, is the fact that the Prison Officers Association ( a right wing union) was the most radical by taking illegal wildcat action at prisons. The police had the biggest march and not an anarcho/radical in sight to support/oppose. Where are all the self confessed class struggle anarchists? All we have are a few climate campers, who will pitch a tent at the drop af a hat. It is a sad reflection that the right wing unions and right wing street politics is on the rise. These are offering people an option, albeit a shit one. By sticking our fingers in our ears, closing our eyes are shouting la, la, la, as loud as we can until we can`t see or hear anything doesn`t mean it has gone away. As a movement, if that`s the proper word, we are sliding into a political ghetto. If you`re not under 30 with dreadlocks and the anarchist uniform you`re deemed as an undercover.

Mayday collective the problem

11.05.2012 11:27

I am sorry to say that the steep decline in quality started almost as soon as the Mayday group stole the site from the UK collective. I would recommend you post at the other Indymedia sites like London, Bristol or Northern where the true spirit of Indymedia survives.
