A24 Solidarity Vigil for Bradley Manning at U.S. Embassy, London

April the 24th there has been a vigil at U.S. Embassy, London in solidarity with Bradley Manning.

Solidarity activists in support of the imprisoned accused whistle blower Bradley Manning gathered outside the U.S. embassy in London on Tuesday, the first day of his pre-trial hearing at Ft. Meade Maryland/ USA. Proceedings were opened by musician John McClean singing "I Shall be Released". The group was addressed by human rights activist Peter Tatchell, D Day Veteran and member of "Veterans for Peace UK" Jim Radford and former anti-war prisoner of the U.S. Catholic Worker Ciaron O'Reilly.

Background was shared on Bradley Manning's arrest, his now 700+ days in military detention without trial. Updates were also shared on excesses of the legal process he is undergoing. A court martial trial date has now been set for Sept 21st. at Ft. Meade, Maryland USA Bradley will face a military tribunal whose Commander in Chief, Barack Obama, has already stated that Manning is guilty.

Other solidarity actions with Bradley Manning were undertaken in Cardiff, the Fairford military base, the gates of Ft. Meade Maryland/USA and in 16 cities across the world.
