*** SUCCESS! FLANNELS HAVE STOPPED SELLING FUR! ***
The Boycott Flannels Campaign has today received a signed, official statement from the Founder/MD of Flannels: "Flannels can confirm we will not continue to sell fur products now or in the future and will engage in becoming a fur free company.".
Boycott Flannels was a national campaign (started in January 2012 and concluded in April 2012) that worked to bring an end to the sale of fur at Flannels. After numerous actions including protests, publicity stunts, emailing/telephone calls/letter writing and more by numerous campaigners and support from members of the public, in April 2012 Flannels then made the decision to stop selling fur and have since become a fur-free company, after releasing an official, signed statement/policy on the 19th April 2012 that “Flannels can confirm we will not continue to sell fur products now or in the future and will engage in becoming a fur free company.”. A copy of this statement/policy can be seen on the main page of this website. Flannels no longer sell fur, and thus we ask no further communications/actions against them be made in relation to this. We wish to thank everyone who took part in the campaign and Flannels as they made the compassionate and progressive decision not to sell fur.

Except it didn't because Flannels say they are "not bowing down to the thugs" (their words) and are continuing to sell fur. I was there this morning and they have a number of fur items in the windows and the shop itself. The manager said they had seen some "animal liberation types" but they were seeing a strong and growing demand for fur so had no intention of stopping selling it. When I said I found that offensive he said,
"well shop somewhere else then".
