Following a Freedom of Information request it can be revealed that Newcastle University used over 22,000 animals in research between1st January 2011 to 31st December 2011. Newcastle Uni is also one of the few Unis that still use primates in tests.

In response a new campaign to close Newcastle University animal testing lab has been launched and a national demonstration has been called for Saturday, 26 May 2012 meeting at Newcastle Life Centre at 12 noon.

Participants will hold a minute's silence and light 22 candles for the 22,000+ animals used in experiments by the Uni last year.

The protest will call for the end of animal experimentation at Newcastle University, calling it both unscientific and cruel.

Nice article, though you lot give animal rights people a bad name. Stuff your protest, and get a job.

Northern Animal Rights is the new name thought up by Jono for his discredited Newcastle Animal Rights.
Ask around, see what you get back when you ask about Jono and NAR. Surprised, no donation button on his web site yet. That will be in the pipeline, no doubt that will come. The poor animals need all the help they can get. Not con artists like Jono. Steer clear you have been warned!

National ???

It is not a national demo, why advertise it as one?
Perhaps it would also be pertinent to ask, when do you intend to repay your fellow activists with the money you conned out of them?

betrayal

When my illness allows, I fund raise for my local animal sanctuary. When I enjoyed good health I worked on the sanctuary and also went sabbing.
We always struggle to find enough money to pay the vet bill and the food bills.
When I see someone with their hands in the till it really pisses me off, but more than that it is a betrayal of the animals.
Moderator, delete this, but please make a few inquiries about our young friend. You will not have to go far to find the truth.
I am not a cop before I hear that accusation, I am someone who has dedicated many years to helping the animals.
