Use citizen-led democracy to VETO nuclear power!

We show some recent examples of direct-democracy-in-action and a role for the occupy movement (in linked article). We argue that direct democracy could radically assist the anti-nuclear movement and suggest ways to introduce "citizen-led" politics in UK and its countries.
April 2012 edition of IR+R NEWS is available via http://www.iniref.org/newsletter.contents.html
A common thread in the Newsletter reports is the people-power to veto or change government plans using the citizens law proposition and veto-referendum-on-demand. To get these in Britain we must push a Democracy Act through parliament(s) by putting MPs and parties under pressure. See some suggestions about how to do this via http://www.iniref.org/carta.htm
So, like the people of Sweden, Switzerland and Italy, we could use citizen-led democracy to restrict or VETO nuclear power!
