#Occupy protestors and local residents blocked Oympic construction at Leyton Marshes this morning.

This morning #Occupy protestors and local residents blocked Olympic construction at Leyton Marshes with five arrests. The small Occupy protest camp was evicted by bailiffs and police after a High Court Injunction was granted last week. Five arrests were made of protestors who refused to move from the front gate where construction vehicles were waiting to enter. One local resident was pulled out from under a lorry by bailiffs before it could be allowed to enter the site.

Basket ball courts are being built on the marshes despite enraged local opposition and the availability of other unused spaces in the area.

"The Olympic sprawl seems to have no ceiling" said one protestor. "The whole thing is basically a militarised advertising campaign."

The Occupy camp has for now been moved to a grass verge by the side of the Lea Bridge Road. "It's not over yet, this could be the site we have been waiting for; a chance for activists and locals to fight something that, if it wasn't corrupt from the start, has gone way beyond that point now."

Building work continues everyday from 7am.
