Do you want to bring change to your community and could use extra confidence or skills? Friends of the Earth are offering a free training programme for passionate people who want to make change happen.
The Gamechangers Academy
Friends of the Earth is offering a new training programme for 20 passionate people who want to turn their enthusiasm into action to make change happen and could use extra confidence, skills or a kick start.
Over the course of one year, participants will take part in two weekend-long training sessions. They will also be linked up with a Friends of the Earth group or campaign.
By the end of the programme Gamechangers are expected to have acquired the core skills needed to organize campaigns. Also, they will come away with a campaigning portfolio showing off their experience and ability.
The content of the course will include topics such as how to approach people on the street, organize protests, deliver speeches, lobby decision-makers, theories of change, campaign planning, building and maintaining groups and training and supporting others.
The course is free although people may be asked for a small contribution towards their food and accommodation for the second weekend.
More information about the training can be found on their website:
