The Day of the Combatant Youth, March 28, Chile

Chile: Clashes for the Day of the Youth Combatant in Valparaíso
from liberaciontotal.lahaine.org, transl waronsociety.noblogs.org [see for pics]:

This Wednesday, March 28, at around 2 PM, a group of encapuchadxs (hooded individuals) exited from the Playa Ancha University and began to block off the street with barricades. This in commemoration of the Day of the Combatant Youth.

Special Forces from the 7th Precinct arrived at the place, and with gas and water tried to disperse the encapuchadxs.

For their part, the comrades received the uniformed bastards with caltrops on the ground to puncture their vehicle tires, as well as with paint bombs, rocks and molotovs.

After hard confrontations, the comrades retreated into the university interior. After which the police bastards entered the campus throwing gas.

As they are known as “Autonomous Universities,” the university staff have their own internal norms and are independent of which the State and its laws stipulate. Therefore every time that the police want to enter into a university they have to request the authorization of the rector.

In this case nothing like this happened (which is becoming ever more frequent), the police broke the door and entered, with the argument that when there is a “flagrant crime” they can enter without permission. Thus it happened that with the university full of people they began to detain people. The bastards even entered the childcare area throwing gas and striking people at a time when children were sleeping the siesta.

In total there were 73 people detained and among them one accused of throwing molotov cocktails.
