Volunteer for Oxford's rape crisis centre (repost)
Player of Games | 09.03.2012 17:23 | Gender | Health | Repression | Oxford
We are currently looking for new volunteers to staff our telephone and email helplines. Full training will be provided and we look for women who are sympathetic to our principles and who are team players. We require volunteers to have a good level of English and they must be able to be involved for a minimum of 18 months. Training commences in April 2012 and runs over a series of evenings and weekends.
Who can volunteer?
OSARCC operates a policy of equal opportunities and welcomes applications to volunteer from women from all walks of life. We can currently only accept applications from females due to the sensitive nature of our work and the fact that the overwhelming majority of our callers are women who only want to speak to another female. We require volunteers to be aged over 18.
No previous experience is required as full training is provided but we are looking for people who can be empathetic and who are open-minded. Although we are registering as a charity and have trustees we promote collective working as much as possible and therefore require volunteers who enjoy working as part of a team.

As the woman said there is no real evidence that male rape exists.
So stop gobbing off and prove her wrong if its so important to you!

I found this by typing "rape by gender" into google using a keyboard on a computer.
I'm pretty sure the same technique can be used to find further sources of information.

Male rape myth.

Yes that's a Wikipedia page which basically says that there are different forms of rape, in the same way there are different shades of the colour blue!
Now be my bitch some more and go and get some evidence that male rape exists.

Really unfuckingbelievable.
A rape crisis centre looks for an unpaid volunteer to cater for female rape victims and what are people discussing?
- the ludicrously high level of rape in the country?
- the fact that womens services are facing such cuts that they are reliant on volunteers?
- that such a sensitive area is being wo/manned by unpaid staff?
- that people are taking jobs that previously would have been paid for?
Oh no.
Its all "what about teh menz".
Whinge, whine, whinge, whine.
Now fuck off and leave us to care for your victims and found your own fucking organisation that deals with the rapists in your midst - and if you did that maybe you wouldn't have to worry about sharing a cell with Big Frank.

Male on male rape is a problem

It does not happen as much as male on female rape, but it is an issue - though I take the point being made that nothing is stopping people setting up a crisis centre for male rape victims.
