If you've not seen the Proud & Prejudiced documentary about the conflict between the EDL and extremist Muslims in Luton... every spring bank holiday Luton hosts a multicultural Carnival which welcomes over 100,000 people... don't suppose we'll ever be seeing TV documentaries about THAT though...
If you've not seen the Proud & Prejudiced documentary about the conflict between the EDL and extremist Muslims in Luton, and elsewhere, the programme did a pretty good job of showing how Sayful Islam and his Muslims Against Crusades group use the excuse of Western military aggression to pursue their real agenda - using the suffering of innocent people to promote themselves as wannabe political dictators, who agitate for authoritarian theocratic dictatorship, sexism, homophobia and religious sectarianism (in other words for the very same Islamic fundamentalism that further victimises innocent Muslims). Even though, yes, of course, I oppose all religion, the programme balanced MAC's political opportunism with good interviews with the moderate Imam of Luton's largest mosque (sorry, forgot the name), and showed how brave warrior Sayful Islam hasn't found the courage to attend even a single demo after his supporters started getting arrested... what a hero!
As per fucking usual however the film-makers all but totally ignored the huge evidence detailing EDL links to the BNP, NF, British Peoples Party, British Freedom Fighters, Combat 18, to violent criminals like Jeff Marsh, and to the convicted terrorists of the Aryan Strike Force, etc; and made no attempt to explain why Anti-Fascists counter-protest against the EDL. At one point however EDL leader Stephen Lennon (aka "Tommy Robinson") was approached in a shopping centre by a really friendly Asian security guard, who said he approved of the EDL's motives, to which Stephen Lennon responded by asking if the guy was Muslim, then "joking" about how the guy should therefore "fuck off" out of Britain, "joking" about child-murdering serial-killer Anders Breivik, then the programme showed Stephen Lennon taking the piss out of Jews by dressing-up in a really stupid Rabbi outfit down in London.
For a bit of context Muslims Against Crusades is a re-branding of an Islamo-Fascist group called Al-Muhajiroun, who were proscribed by the National Union of Students for handing out leaflets which advocate murdering Jews - just like EDL activists in the Aryan Strike Force! Al-Muhajiroun was founded by hate preacher Omar Bakri Muhammad, as a faction of parent organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir. Hizb ut-Tahrir was formed by Taqiuddin al-Nabhani - a follower of Muhammad Amin al-Husayni, a senior recruiter for Adolf Hitler's SS and Arabic language broadcaster for the Nazis during WW2; and, while stressing that many times more Muslims fought AGAINST the Fascists during WW2, the reason for pointing all that out is to emphasise the fact that the conflict depicted in Proud & Prejudiced boils down to a slapping contest between 2 competing forms of Fascism.

Favourite bits of the show included a big sign on the front of a church saying "Jesus Saves" - in the middle of a part of Luton that Tommy Robinson claimed was totally Muslim dominated, and Sayful Islam's morons marching through an area so Muslim dominated they passed a huge sign advertising The Calvary Church of God. To finally put these berks in perspective however, probably the most important fact to remember is one that predictably the documentary never mentioned - the most the MAC have even brought out on a demo is perhaps 200 nutters, the most the EDL ever attracted was around 3,500, every spring bank holiday Luton hosts a multicultural Carnival which welcomes over 100,000 people... don't suppose we'll ever be seeing any TV documentaries about THAT though.
