A neo-nazi gets put on his arse with one punch and every antifascist in the area is rounded-up, with 22 charged with CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT VIOLENT DISORDER, and 7 fitted-up, with 6 going to jail. A mob of around 40 EDL try attacking a gig in Leeds with bricks and bottles, breaking windows and injuring several people, and a dozen of them are eventually nicked and charged with AFFRAY! What's the betting none of them spend a day in jail? The scum are in court in Leeds again tomorrow.
This wasn't an anti-racist benefit at all. The gig hadn't started so there were only @ 20 people, but @ 30 bottled it from one guy. Tough lads! They ran away hitting a couple of bystanders with bricks and breaking a window. Then they probably chatted shit about it on facebook.
this was an all day event, called rage against racism, a fund raiser for the UAF, the oppressed was also playing the event, it was a well publicized and advertised event.
The event may have been called 'Rage Against Racism', but neither the UAF nor any other anti-racist group got a penny from this gig. Bearing in mind the way the gig was promoted there should have been security, but the promoter didn't bother to sort any out. Even so, the EDL were sent packing (and The Oppressed went home with full pockets). RAR2 was better, but again it wasn't a benefit.
The way I heard it some of the old Leeds AFA were so pissed off about having their name used by a small-time capitalist they were talking about turning over the gig themselves.
The money-grabbing cunt who put this gig on has a lot to answer for. He's never even been involved in politics, but spent weeks winding up the edl on facebook, and didn't sort out security despite being warned by loads of people. Thanks to those who saw the edl off, who were just punters like me. If the edl had got in they'd have wrecked the place and it'd have been a great victory for the fascist thugs. In future I'll go to genuine benefits, not fake ones. The Oppressed made £1,000 from this gig, anti-racist groups got sweet FA.

Victory to me.... means the other side loses. That means either dead or surrendering and taken as prisoners.
I have absolutely no idea what it means to fascists and anti-fascists. Is the losers the ones that get arrested or something? Or do you win by shouting the most put-downs? None of this sounds like a victory. It just sounds like you all go home at the end of the day and both sides havn't actually gained ground over the other.

I thought I had replied to this before , But obviously some have not read my message. This WAS an anti racism gig , and it WAS a success . I was on the door from the minute it opened alongside some old school Leeds Anti Fascists . The anti fa group in question did recieve cash which is common knowledge . The thing I dont get is that people seem to be attacking the organisers and not the braindead imbeciles who turned up and tried to spoil the gig . I paid a representative of Group 635 , and also raised cash for them at the next alldayer with the Upstarts. I gave them 25 tickets which they solf before the day of the gig , and they also did a stall , recieved donations etc , so if it wasnt an anti racist gig . What the fuck was it ?
