Get ready for the eviction of OccupyLSX

OccupyLSX | 13.02.2012 11:58 | Occupy Everywhere

The eviction of the occupy London stock exchange camp outside St Pauls cathedral is most likely to happen early tomorrow morning on the 14th of February. We want as many people as possible to come down to the camp tonight and very early tomorrow to help us to resist the eviction.

If we don't put up one hell of a fight to defend the occupy LSX camp then the occupy movement is dead. It has started kicking off in Greece big time and we need to do the same here. It's hasn't 'started' kicking off in Greece, yesterday was the continuation of years of struggles, riots, occupations and so on that comes from a particular and large movement of all sorts of people. The Occupy movement in the UK is barely such given that 1) it's much more reformist en masse than the Greek struggles and probably fetishes non-violence 2) it barely seems able to articulate a response to austerity in the UK that resonates with a wide section of the population but chooses to focus more on exposing what is already known - that the rich are rich because they have lots of money and they fiddle their taxes.

The author signs this piece as if it came from 'Occupy LSX'. Somehow I doubt they would be endorsing a widespread self-defence and offence against the cops and the burning of banks, government buildings, chain cafes and so on as happens in Greece. So you wonder really what the real point of the post is really?
