99 Days of Occupation: Occupy Sheffield Moving On

Chris | 11.02.2012 19:12 | Occupy Everywhere | Sheffield

After 99 days of occupation outside the Cathedral on Church Street in Sheffield, which started on 5th November 2011, Occupy Sheffield held a Moving on Parade to mark the striking of the camp which is due to happen tomorrow, Sunday 11th Feburary 2012.

The procession, led by the cake for the 99% and the samba band went up Fargate, stopped outside the Town Hall, then went down The Moor before doubling back to the Citadel of Hope, where an evening of entertainment was due to take place.

I knew a good sharp frost would put an end to it.

Can't evict an idea? Er..... yes you can

@anon: I suppose they might be gone, because we can't see them anymore. Ideas are not the same as tents though, nor even the same as the relative positions of human bodies. I suppose one can alter the relative importance of ideas in one's own conscious mind. Folks certainly adopt elaborate behaviours in attempts to maintain the consistency of their beliefs.

So long as we always keep in mind exactly what it is we want to "evict", then we can try our best to avoid it... and live with the consequences. Or we could continually improve our capacity to live together peacefully, and healthily.

Thanks for sowing those seeds Occupy Sheffield.
