It has been confirmed that former First Minister of Northern Ireland Rev. Ian Paisley has passed away.

It is believed that the former Northern Ireland First Minister and founder of the Free Presbyterianh Church has passed away.

His son Ian Jr. and his wife Eileen were immediately alerted and arrived within minutes.

His death was confirmed by his doctor at approximately 1.00 pm by doctors at the hospital in Dundonald, east Belfast.

It has been widely reported in recent days that Mr. Paisley has been suffering from severe pneumonia and heart disease – and even at this very early stage it has been speculated as having being the primary cause of his death.

Mr. Paisley is survived by his children Rhonda , Ian Jr, Kyle, Sharon and Cherith and his beloved wife Eileen.
