Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: NO TORTURE.

“No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment”.

In 2008, USA authorities, continued to retain 270 prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, without charges nor Criminal Trial Process, subjecting them to the “submarine”, a torture that simulates drowning. The President George W. Bush authorizes CIA to continue with detentions and secret interrogations, despite of its violation of international right.

In Darfur, violence, atrocities and kidnapping, are uncontrolled and foreign aid is almost impossible. Particularly women are victims of continued  assaults, with more tan 200 raping cases, near from a refugees camp for several weeks, without any effort from authorities to punish the perpetrators.

In Congo´s Democratic Republic, Torture acts and abuses are usually commited by govern security services and armed groups, included extended  beatings, stabbings and violations of of those detained. Detainees are held without communication, sometimes in secret detention places. In 2007, the republic guard (presidential guard) and police special division of Kinshasa arrested and torture randomly to countless individuals labeled as government critics.
