Occupy Liverpool Eviction Hearing

Success in court today! Occupy Liverpool was granted an adjournment to the Eviction proceedings initiated on behalf of Tinlings Ltd, Crosshall Developments Ltd, Crosshall Building Ltd, Huntsmere Ltd and any of the other 32 companies that its Director, Christopher Oakes, pulls out of his company name top-hat.

The judge recognised the unfairness of the hearing based on what we believed to be insufficient time to prepare a defence.

This will now allow Occupy Liverpool to prepare a defence against the claimant’s application for a Possession Order. Clearly they thought this would bulldoze through the courts and Occupy Liverpool would be thrown out onto the streets —“Whose Streets?”—in a most timely fashion, and the frustration could not have been more encapsulated in the Solicitors eye-roll on realising that we had been granted an adjournment.
