Those around us cannot avoid to be influenced by our actions, regardless to what they say.

If someone is trying to discourage you he is really doing it because he wants to hurt you, or because he is looking at his own benefit only. Deeply inside, he will respect you.

Your chances to survive will increase at time, since others, influenced, will turn less threatening. Other benefits exist.
