BBC finally admits western imperialist forces toppled the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya

Sam Carrington | 18.01.2012 19:11 | Analysis | Terror War | Workers' Movements | Birmingham | Liverpool

British special forces were deployed on the ground in order to help the UK's allies - the Libyan revolutionaries often called the National Transitional Council or NTC. Those with a knowledge of the programme insist "they did a tremendous job" and contributed to the final collapse of the Gaddafi regime.
This exposes the apalling collusion of various British left groups and individuals including the SWP, Stop the War, George Galloway and Yvonne Ridley with the forces of western imperialism.

This is not new information for anyone who was not taken in by the western stunts of "dictator" versus "democracy" disinformation campaigns and maybe will be a lesson for the naive who want to "support the workers" regardless of their political orientation or backing.
Also see footage of the massive support the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya enjoyed against NATO / Imperialist agressors

dont forget the complicity of the anarchist left!

18.01.2012 19:21

dont forget all the 'anarchists' who fell hook line and sinker for the libyan 'revolution' as sold to them by the likes of al jazeera, the guardian etc.

a prosperous, independent country with a high standard of living torn to pieces by western forces in order to line the pockets of rich white men.
arab spring? arab ker-ching more like!

surely by now you'd think you'd realise that if your ruling class is supporting the same 'revolution' as you that there must be something seriously wrong.

And 144 tons of gold

18.01.2012 20:10

Libya had little government or national debt and had a lot of gold. the gold was stored in London.

Libya had 144 tons of gold,  http://www.zerohedge.com/news/battle-libya-almost-over-battle-its-144-tons-gold when Gordon Brown had sold off a lot of UK gold.

He was planning to use the gold to create a gold-backed currency for Africa and the Middle East. It would have hammered the US dollar and Euro,  http://www.goldbuzzer.com/is-gold-the-real-reason-for-nato-s-action-in-libya/47

A senior US financier or bankster says the Libya gold may never be found,  http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/rickards-says-libyas-gold-bullion-may-never-be-found/2011/08/23/gIQAIXkVZJ_video.html - except it's in London.

He won't be found because the IMF and major banks like JP MOrgan will be using it to back their currency swaps and deals to raise money to stop European and US banks from going bankrupt.

In response to above - and maybe you can provide some contrary evidence if you are serious about the discussion rather than just making shallow meaningless comments.

Although you highlight the role of 'anarchists' in supporting a fascist war of aggression, both numerically and ideologically the role of the LLL's (left leaning liberals - including the entire spectrum of left wing socialists and centralists) was far greater.

They not only fell for every false argument put out by the imperialist/zionist backers of this outrage but were instrumental in propagating them.

Many of the anarchists and anarchist groups I know of were staunchly against any form of intervention and strongly argued against the mass media line accepted hook line and sinker by the vast majority of trots, liberals and weekend militants that - collectively - occupy the lions share of attention and 'gate-keeping' roles that so effectively police discontent among the people[sic].
