climate activists staged a mock exhibition from a future world looking back at the early 21st century when the last ice was seen at the north pole.

they are highlighting the fact that the ice cap appears to be receding much faster than was forecast by the already worrying IPCC report in 2007, warning that the subsequent rise in sea levels may submerge large parts of major cities throughout the world, including of course london.

the ice block was brought over in a cold box, and lit from underneath, it forms a striking image in front of the cathedral, drawing interested passers-by to read the accompanying scientific literature.
