Jeremy Clarkson the New Face of Fascism

Clarkson portrays racism as acceptable

Not one week goes by without Jeremy Clarkson being in the headlines for all the wrong reasons and yet the smug Clarkson appears oblivious to the potential poison that he is spreading. Clarkson has made another defiant statement in which he referred to Kent locals as being "the sort of people who arrived here on the back of lorry" or "clinging to the Eurostar train".

Previously Clarkson made a macabre joke about the deaths of a group of chinese cockle pickers, let`s make no mistake these are not just jokes or humour but they contain a vile repulsive racist message about immigrants and people in foreign countries, it carries a message of white english supremacy.

Clarkson is making more racist statements per week than the BNP, it seems that Clarkson`s brand of vicious racism mixed with humour is somehow acceptable, there is the potential danger of this type of racism being normalised again in which comedians in the 70`s and 80`s regularly used to abuse Black and Asian people, however with changing times most of these vile comedians are now obsolete, but Clarkson appears to be reviving racism by adding humour, Clarkson also uses the media as an outlet to revive this particular brand of racism, the BBC and all media should pull the plug on Clarkson immediately.

The problem is Clarkson has sneaked his way up into a respectable position, he his now showing his true fascist agenda now that he believes that he is untouchable, Clarkson has now become the Adolf Hitler of the media.

No doubt Clarkson will have support in the ranks of the BNP and EDL who could see Clarkson`s statements as being in support of their fascist ideology, this is why Clarkson`s agenda must be challenged by Anti-racists, if Clarkson continues to put the boot in on immigrants and foreign cultures then there needs to be protests against him and the media outlets who suport him, there is no room for racism in the mass media and television!

EDL leader says Jeremy Clarkson posed for photo and discussed Islam with him

Clarkson and Lennon
Clarkson and Lennon

Gobby Jeremy Clarkson stormed into another race row last night after making fun of drowned Chinese cockle pickers. And his latest outburst came after the Daily Star Sunday discovered he had posed for a snap with the leader of the racist English Defence League.

The 51-year-old was slammed after joking about dead Chinese immigrants in his regular newspaper column. He tastelessly compared synchronised swimmers to the 21 cockle pickers who were killed in rising tides in Morecambe Bay, Lancashire, in 2004. The Top Gear presenter was last night branded "out of touch" by anti-racism groups.

The latest outrage came as a picture of Clarkson and far-right English Defence League head Stephen Lennon emerged. Lennon, also known as Tommy Robinson, claims he talked about Islam with Clarkson.

The 28-year-old convicted thug, who also founded the anti-Islamic movement, said: "He knew who I was. We talked about Islam. I don't want to say anything else because he will just get stitched up. But I'm a big fan of him."

The picture is thought to have been taken in September outside a pub in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, where EDL members were holding a meeting.

But last night Jeremy Clarkson said he did not have a clue who Lennon was. He told the Daily Star Sunday: "I have no recollection of talking to this man and have no idea who Stephen Lennon is."

Daily Star Sunday, 8 January 2012

As the Star points out, Lennon does have a record of having his picture taken with public figures (see here and here) in order to falsely claim their support for the EDL. However, it's not difficult to believe that he and Clarkson found they have a lot in common.

"Clarkson should be confronted about his racist views,he is getting away with too much and basking in glory and publicity."

Any confrontation will give him even more publicity than he gets already......... how do you deal with abhorrent pricks in positions of power?

Clarkson's home is well known

11.01.2012 14:51

Maybe he would appreciate some "jokes" a little closer to home - purely in the spirit of comedy and entertainment of course. I'm sure he is used to this kind of thing from his time at public school (Repton School in Derbyshire).

The cynic in me wonders if Clarkson just does it for the £££ that come from the free publicity rather than for any explicit political agenda. But the effect is still there despite the motivation.

cheap publicity

11.01.2012 15:06

Cheap publicity - for humourless trots that is.

What a soft target as well - too scared to go after the real power players?

Or is this some kind of distraction?

Boring nonsense.

Oh come on!

Clarkson is a meaningless moron who's meaningless views don't have influence in society. To pretend he is a fascist is madness!!!

@Dan - I think you underestimate the power of the media

11.01.2012 15:49

(I'm not a trot by the way)

But I think it would be naïve to underestimate the power the media has in softening people up to ideas like racism and bigotry. You only have to read rags like the Sun, the Express, the Mail to see the kind of systematic division they are sowing between people with their stories about immigrants, scroungers, criminals, etc.

I'm not saying people are idiots, but going with the flow is often the easiest route for people without a stubborn streak to take. And it can often work on a subconscious level, by "normalising" behaviour and views that would normally be seen as abhorrent.

How do you think people like Hitler come to power? Do Germans have some kind of genetic predisposition to cruelty? No, it's just because the Nazis had an excellent propaganda machine and were able to take advantage of a bad financial situation at the time. Don't think it couldn't happen here if the conditions were right - to think otherwise would be xenophobic.

clarkson is racist

11.01.2012 15:51

clarkson is a racist who is using humour to promote crude racism, what happened to a policy of no platform? and yet clarkson is regularly allowed to promote his sickening views in the form of humour.

I don't see what all the fuss is about

Nobody takes his comments seriously.
And at the end of the day he isn't breaking any laws.

If you are calling for his comments to be 'banned' then you'd also have to call on a lot of other people's comments to be banned also.

Breivik did quote Clarkson

16.01.2012 18:33

Anders Breivik did indeed refer to and quote Jeremy Clarkson in his long rambling "manifesto". Breivik wrote that Clarkson's "Top Gear" was "one of the funniest shows on TV", and " one of the very few programs at the Burka Broadcasting Corporation still worth seein" before quoting much of a Clarkson Time's article - “we’ve been robbed of our Englishness," in which Jeremy complaind "This is the only country in the world where the national flag is deemed offensive.". Breivik applauded the sentiment, and claimed the multi-culti enemy had attacked national flags across Europe.

That's not to say Breivik ever had any personal communication with Clarkson, or Clarkson had any responsibility for Breivik .
