"Battle in Seattle" film at Bank of Ideas this Saturday 24th December

The Bank of Ideas in Sun Street, Hackney will be showing the film Battle in Seattle on Saturday the 24th of December at 8pm about the November 1999 mass protest against the World Trade Organisation conference in Seattle which kicked off the global anti-capitalist movement,

This was a landmark event which led to the growing anti-capitalist movement across the world and eventually to todays current global occupy movement.

that film sucks, the only good bit is where the cop mentions his wife had a mischarriage! (GOAL!)

at least show a documentary on the WTO summit, and the summit hopping movement with a bit of riot porn, thats what you need, not crap middlclasss wanabe actors!

Don't re-write history

It weren't the Battle of Seattle that kicked it all off. That's a re-write by yer Naomi Kleins. In the West at least the first big one was J18 - the Carnival against Capitalism - happy days!
