The London occupy movement has promised the mother of all battles if eviction of its sites in London is attempted. Thousands of people will be prepared to come down to defend the occupy London sites within a few hours notice of an eviction notice.

Any eviction attempt will make the August London riots look like a tea party! We are prepared to fight to the death to defend our movement and we mean it!

Of course you are not. The 'movement' ended once the key people left and only the drunks, druggies and nutters remained. The camp is still there because the mayor realised some time ago it could be safely ignored with little political fall out.

getting people there "within a few hours notice of an eviction notice"?
surely you'd need to get people there MUCH quicker than that if an eviction was actually happening?

i don't see the authorities giving you lots of warning beforehand. do you not think they'll just turn up mob-handed at 5am sometime, whack a massive cordon around the whole area, re-route the buses and get on with clearing the camp? i'd be very surprised if it was possible for anyone to join in actual eviction resistance once that operation's underway....

whenever someone posts something they actually believe in or would actually work if enough people could be bothered to turn up-someone always posts it's a cop or a journalist trying to stir shit up. maybe it is but maybe sometimes it's a real person and if we did what they suggest something might change. it would be poetry in motion to see thousands flood the city and repel the copscum and their banker paymasters. it is possible if you really want it. we have the numbers and time is really running out...

Yeah...I only wish it were true too that we would all go to defend Occupy (and all the other fights) in a massive show of strength that kicks the cops out of the streets, occupies more territory and expropriates the commonwealth, Sadly, the original post is a daydream, provocation or wank fantasy and serves no real purpose in communicating much to anyone re: what to do practically when the cops knock on Occupy's tent flaps.
