It's obviously "YOUR" choice 'Animal Lover' but you haven't shown what good it is that NAVA does which 'actually does some good', so all you are is some anonymous snipe having a go.

NAVA success

I was pointing out that the SHAC campaign after a brief initial success has achieved nothing in recent years while NAVA has actually got things done, like:

SRCL Campaign
LAN Campaign
Anti-Vivisectionists March on Downing Street.

Only two days ago dozens of NAVA activists protested at Harlan Interfauna, Wyton as part of the campaign to close Britain's last beagle farm.

All of this in the past three months, in the same period SHAC has continued with their three person demos outside of Astra Zeneca sites which even they admit are now ignored by AZ and the media and they paid the electricity bill on the cottage in France where two SHAC members live 'writing a book about the struggle'.

The point I am making is that NAVA is achieving results for animals, SHAC is providing finance for a few individuals to live a full time activist lifestyle.

On the back of SHAC ? You must be joking. I think it's better to say NAVA has been successful despite the involvement of a couple of SHAC people at the beginning.

NAVA is focused on the animals, on campaigns that produce results and not on providing an income for 'full time workers'.

I am convinced that SHAC was started with the best of intentions, HLS is a hell hole that deserves to be closed today but (and it is a very big but) even SHAC insiders concede that the closure of HLS is now not remotely likely However certain individuals personal circumstances require the continuation of a failed campaign that is now focused more on fund raising than it is on liberation for the HLS imprisoned.

The AR movement needs to move on from SHAC and focus more on groups like NAVA that achieve results with minimal income. Groups and campaigns do not need full time paid workers, expensive hire cars, weekend retreats for "stress" and all the other expenses that detracted from SHAC's effectiveness.

Although I agree that buying the house in France and allowing people to live there is probably wrong it's worth remembering that it was done to provide a home to a couple of devoted, inspirational activists who had been working full time for the cause for well over three years.

SHAC has probably been more effective than people realise with a new generation of AR activists now working on other projects, many of whom were inspired and first motivated by SHAC. Groups like NAVA are the legacy of SHAC

I'm all for supporting people who have taken a physical and mental toll through their work and I know well the people involved here and what they did for SHAC and the wider world of AR in Britain and Europe however using funds that were given to support the fight against HLS to provide them with a house is not appropriate in my humble view.

Furthermore if others disagree and feel it was right at the time they must now consider that it has been long enough because to me it looks like a couple of people living full time off SHAC donations and doing very little for the cause beyond the book we have been hearing about for two years but which has yet to see the light of day.

No SHAC funds go to 'fund' a house in France.

It's time to stop trolling and put up the evidence or shut up. Some people seem to have short memories, SHAC campaigning has seen Fortress Investment drop their loan with HLS, five suppliers have pulled with dealing with HLS in the past two months.

Meanwhile NAVA have jumped on others campaigns and taken credit, while continuing to support racists and biggots who are trying their best to split the movement, it's time to get back to basics and campaign for animal liberation and forget about using cheap unrelated shots all our energy SHOULD be fighting for the animals - not against each other! (except for the trolls of course, they can go to hell) xx

NAVA has achieved protection and liberation for animals while SHAC has held pointless demos for years achieving little.

The lie about SHAC not funding a house in France is no longer believed as several of us have been there, if you still want to deny it I will publish here on Indy the address and ownership details, is that what you want ?

"Fortress Investment drop their loan with HLS"

No that's a lie. the loan period ended. HLS then went to another lender for a new loan at a lower rate (this is called Capitalism).
