Foie gras is a delicacy produced by force-feeding ducks and geese until their livers become swollen and diseased. Caged or in pens, these birds never get to see the light of day as they live their short and miserable lives in factory farm sheds.

The Northern Animal Rights Network (NARN) has kicked off a campaign in Northern England to rid restaurants, hotels and delis of this barbaric dish, and to much avail.

In December so far, four establishments have vowed to remove the dish from sale in their establishments making foie gras Britain's number one faux pas.
