Drugs and the Model's World.

Being "skinny" is a driving phenomena for women's fashion modeling, so drugs become an easy excuse, a justifiable panacea.

Drugs and the Model's World.

It may appear that the world of a fashion-model is quite wondrous.... a lot of attention, admiration, money, and gorgeous clothes. What more could a young woman want?

Plenty more, really. People often take advantage of these youngsters, and it may not turn out well. The truth gets out.

The life of the beautiful fashion models of today is rife with pitfalls. Beyond the crowds, the guys, the admirers and entourage, there is a much less pleasant side to this existence.  A road that can lead to ruin, shattered lives, and even death.... via the pathway of drugs.

What is the allure of drugs? What is about the escapist euphoria? What is it about the sensation of the moment that can drive a beautiful young person over the cliff of living, into a chasm of desperate personal degradation, loss, and pain?

There are many answers to these questions. The answers  should be sought out and studied and the truth revealed to those who need the truth.

The truth is Drugs Destroys Lives.

Take a look at the woeful  way a life of youth can become wasted .

Kate Moss was an icon of high fashion, earning millions, but who spun down the drain of cocaine addiction.  Australian model Tione Hawkins exposed the dirt beyond the glamour,  when she has revealed that young models in Milan are regularly offered drugs. And many partake. Writer Harry Shapiro, a spokesman for drugs charity Drugscope, also warned that models could be under added pressure to take stimulant drugs such as cocaine because of the pressures of the lifestyle. Being "skinny" is a driving phenomena for women's fashion modeling, so drugs become an easy excuse, a justifiable panacea.

The result can be a ravaged body, aging beyond its years, and a really unreal life.

And now - what's new?   This: there's nothing like pharmaceutical use to get the day started in the new world of modeling... In order to stay as thin as possible, many take drugs such as Ritalin and Dexedrine (prescribed for people with Attention Deficit Disorder - which is an invention in itself, by the psycho-pharma complex) because they suppress appetite and hunger.

These women also like taking over-the-counter sinus medication or energy boosters that contain ephedrine which causes  burning of calories... At the end of the day, or the end of what can be a short career, this doesn't seem so wonderful after all. If you perform a Google search of  "fashion model drug deaths", you would be stunned!

It is a devastating commentary on the contrast of beauty and horror.

There is an answer, though.

Think of the life of a young person, a youthful beauty, who is well-versed of the adversity of the drug-world. What if all these people were given the understanding of what drugs can do to a person? What if they completely understood the dangers to life and living? What if they had this data, and were invested with the personal integrity to say --  no, that is not the path my life will take! One can be an aesthetic attraction and a part of art and beauty and live a life of clarity. And experience the world, and have a future, and have a life!

The way of knowledge and understanding is not out of reach. It is easy to obtain. There are many people and groups, who through their goodwill and willingness to help others, can contribute to a better life and better world for others. One major influence today is the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, and its "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life campaign". The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is a nonprofit, public benefit organization dedicated to the prevention of illegal drug use through education.   Thousands have been touched and improved by its good works.

One of the most powerful and easily accessed resources is at www.drugfreeworld.org.  This is a truly remarkable resource. Visit it soon. You will gain much, and may help someone to have a real life of happiness without drugs.

And for the person with a drug problem, there are also real solutions to addiction.  Narconon, a drug rehabilitation program that utilizes the methods of L. Ron Hubbard, has a success rate of more than 75%.  (www.narconon.org)
