Govt Building Squatted in Cardiff

Activists have squatted a derelict Inland Revenue Building in Cardiff city centre, the anti-cuts activists were joined by Food not Bombs handing out free soup and other supporters.
A spokesperson for the group who have dubbed themselves ‘The Great Tax Invasion’ said:
“Things are hotting up in this city… we now have an Occupy Cardiff camp on Cathedral Road, the long derelict Tredegar Pub on Clifton Street being transformed by squatters into a cultural centre and now we are reclaiming the Old Inland Revenue Offices as a community centre. On Wednesday 30 November many of us will also be joining thousands of striking trade unionists marching through the city. It’s about the needy vs. the greedy, the have-nots taking on the have-yachts!”
“At Occupy Cardiff 11.11.11 the police were armed with tasers, this was not a healthy safe environment to protest peacefully. We object to the government neglecting state buildings such as this. We intend to maintain and repair it. Squandered by the state – Squatted by the people ‘Occupy Cardiff… The Great Tax Invasion’ will be a drug and alcohol free community space, an open forum, creative think tank, arts space, information point and media hub for all those who oppose the government’s cuts and austerity”
“This is not a recession it is a robbery. The government is making cuts while allowing big business and the rich to dodge up to £120 billion in taxes every year, we hope our occupation of the old Inland Revenue Offices will send out a clear message about Tax Justice that poor people must not be made to pay for an economic crisis caused by the rich and bankers”.

We have no independent means nor do we wish to own our own means but just to suckle from those who we perceive to have more than us.
Our beloved government, who we believe is our weapon against those who have more than us will be our means of attack.
We will attack them with bureaucracy and TAX.
We don't believe that the fat cats have got rich on public sector contracts, government licenses and handouts from tax in the first place.
We don't believe that TAX is the problem.
We do believe that TAX is the solution, especially stealth tax (aka tax the rich).
Dedicated and hard working individuals must be attacked for TAX for the greater good (i.e. good and great) of society as a whole.
We will support our armies of public sector working class civil servants, our working class council pen pushers, our working class policy force, our working class boarders agency, our working class prisons, and our working class hero boys who kill foreigners for us (they died for us, we will remember them ).
SOCIETY IS ONE AND WE ARE NON.
We are the 99% of easily lead.

and it isnt going to happen
so why do people still go on about it?
we need much more fundamental change than that, and we need it now, because there is a rape happening, and it is our mother who is being raped.
not climate change, something much more significant and urgent than that..... pollution.
workers rights? dont be a worker, dont play that game whats so good about being a coal miner anyway? stop being a victim, the government are not there to help you
resist in the way you live your life, or is that too much for you..... fine, carry on being a materialist

As I understand it the new squatt is a political and creative community space that's making use of a building the government lunched out!
Whether you think the tax system is good or bad if the rich aren't paying their share whilst the poor are taking the brunt you've got to see the pleasant irony in an abandoned tax office being occupied and reappropriated!
Good one guys!
