Nov 28: Solidarity action at court for the Cardiff Occupiers

occupy solidarity | 21.11.2011 12:02 | Occupy Everywhere | Free Spaces | Policing | Repression

Two of those arrested at the Castle occupation in Cardiff on 11 November are up in court on Monday 28 November. Come to the court and show your solidarity.

Six people were arrested and two were charged in Cardiff Council's and South Wales Police's break up of our first camp on November 11th, 2011. These people were arrested for peaceful protest and exercising free speech on public land; the Council's dragging up of an 1875 b...y-law that one councillor said "wasn't really a law" underscores their scramble for an excuse to stifle inconvenient political opinions.

We stand in absolute solidarity with those facing trial and will peacefully demonstrate to support them on Monday the 28th. From 8am.

"These people were arrested for peaceful protest and exercising free speech on public land"

No they weren't, they were arrested for criminal damage of public owned property.

Clarifier

charges are trespass not criminal damage

Well, the charges appear to be 'trespass', not even aggravated.
