There had been call outs and outreaching in the days leading up to the occupation for students to gather at 2:00pm for a rally under the clock tower. This was followed by some speeches from a number of students and then a quick march to occupy the University of Birmingham Corporate Conference Centre. The occupation was split into two groups on the top floor as security locked the doors after some students got through. The two groups then held simultaneous general assemblies which where updated live to their website.
