John Moores Uni-sport for the elite only

£70m+ investment of public money leaves Liverpool John Moores students without an affordable and accessible sports centre.
Following the 'investment' in new buildings on Brownlow Hill the accessible and Uni owned gym has been demolished and replaced with access to Liverpool City Council 'Lifestyles' facilities (outside peek hours).
This means that the large number of city centre based students must pay commercial rates to access a gym in the evening- the only uni owned facilities are now at IM marsh- in the south of the city.
Access to the 'state of the art' Tom Reilly building is available only to 'elite' athletes- so much for inclusion!

They've just started a new scheme where the smaller sports club have to pay £30 an hour for the old halls. Though it's £12 for the new halls. However they say they're not bookable because they're open to the public (an excuse they give)
It's caused the smaller sporting clubs unable to pay for their new prices - clubs have tried teaming up to act against it though the Sports Central reluctantly continues to put profits first behind the sports itself.
