Occupy Newcastle attacked by EDL

News just in from Occupy Newcastle

This morning at about 4am, the camp was attacked by 20-30 EDL supporters, who had been demonstrating earlier in the day. I think people are still okay, no one was hospitalised… but protestors where held down and punched and kicked. Bricks where thrown and an occupier was stamped on. The police were called, it took them ten minutes to arrive, by which time the EDL thugs had vanished. The occupiers are understandably fragile today, and attempting to rebuild their camp.

The occupation was attacked at around 3 oclock by fascist scum from unknown groups
the fascist came upto the camp and started to attack occupants and assulting people there

the camp wishes that this statement be hidden as it could PROVOAK A NASTY reacation and is full of in accuraceys

Its awful that this has happened and my heart felt support goes out to those effected by this attack. It doesnt matter what provoking happened, please know we are thinking of you and wish you strength when it all seems hopeless, be angry not down heartened.
