OccupyBelfast | 26.10.2011 15:38 | Occupy Everywhere

Occupy Belfast have been occupying Writer's Square, opposite St Anne's Cathedral in the city centre, since 21 October.

The occupy movement has spread to Northern Ireland. On Friday 21st October activists staged a demonstration at Invest NI, after which the group collectively decided to set up an occupation at Writer's Square, opposite St. Anne's Cathedral. The camp has approximately 10 tents with many members of the public and local businesses lending support. Daily general assemblies are held at 6.30 in the square, everyone welcome. Occupy Belfast does not endorse any political parties and is open to all sections of the community.
