Updated 21st October: 3 council members have asked the Occupy Bristol protesters to leave. There is a call out to contact your local councillor; "...and asking them to support our peaceful camp. You can use www.writetothem.org.uk, put in your postcode, and send them a letter within minutes." (Source http://occupybristoluk.wordpress.com)
Don't forget there is a 1pm open informal meeting each day!

20th October PM: Reports are the numbers there are growing (source twitpic). The Occupy Bristol camp has agreed a statement of solidarity:

1. The current system is unsustainable. It Is undemocratic and unjust. We need alternatives; this is where we work towards them.
2. We are of all ethnicities, backgrounds, genders, generations, sexualities, abilities and faiths. We stand together with occupations all over the world.
3. We refuse to pay for the banks’ crisis.
... The full statement is here and ends "...This is just the beginning.".

This Sunday at 2pm they have announced an open-day at the site (occupybristoluk.wordpress.com). Image via Sophia/Lockerz.com

20th October AM: Yesterday the camp decided at a general assembly that, "...there will now be an open in-formal meeting at 1pm every day. The idea being that people on lunch breaks etc can come and chat. There will now only be a general assembly at 6pm every day." So why not pop down today and find out more? Background: Its happening HERE! Its happening NOW!  We are the 99%, but no one ever said it would be easy! Inspired by the Wall Street occupation and the myriad of copycat actions blossoming all over the globe, Occupy Bristol has taken College Green! ‘The Green’ has currently been liberated back into the hands of the people.

We need as much help as possible to create the space. So come down and join us – the bigger the encampment becomes, the harder it will be for them to move us and the bigger the impact we will have! We are currently in desperate need of supplies. If you can help us out with any of the items listed here under the full article link then please, please do!

iContact Video have put together a short film showing events on Saturday as 150 people gathered at Collage Green in Bristol as part of the international protests against corporate greed.
